Easy Caramel Apple Hand Pies | The Perfect Fall Dessert
If you love fall as much as I do, then you probably can't wait to start baking all of your favorite fall recipes. Nothing screams fall more to me than filling my home with the sweet smell of apples and cinnamon!
One of my all-time favorite fall recipes is these easy Caramel Apple Hand Pies. They look impressive, but using premade pie crust makes them surprisingly simple to make. They're filled with warm cinnamon apples and gooey caramel, wrapped in flaky pie crust, and baked until golden brown. This Caramel Apple Hand Pie recipe is such an easy dessert when you're craving something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen.
They're also the perfect way to use up all of those apples after a trip to the apple orchard!
Mix all of your dry ingredients to coat your apple dices.......I actually use my hands to coat the apples, but of course you could use a spoon.
If you don't have a cookie or biscuit cutter to make your circle shapes from the pie dough roll, no worries! I use the top of a round glass. It's about 3" in diameter and the perfect size to hold all that yummy apple filling!
Place the apple filling into the center of each dough round...easy peasey!
And of course, don't forget to top each one off with a little bit of ooey gooey caramel sauce!
Place your hand pies on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Whisk the egg with a tablespoon of water and brush over the tops and edges of each hand pie before placing in the oven.
Twenty minutes later you will be staring at these little pillows of apple love. Be sure to cool completely on a cooling rack...it's hard to refrain from eating them straight out of the oven!
